  1. 1. Warm 150 milliliters of milk in a pot until it is lukewarm.
  2. 2. Crumble the yeast into the lukewarm milk.
  3. 3. Stir 1 tablespoon of sugar into the milk-yeast mixture.
  4. 4. Cover the pot and let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Add 190 grams of sugar, flour, a pinch of salt, and cubed butter to a large bowl.
  6. 6. Pour the yeast milk and the eggs over the dry ingredients.
  7. 7. Knead the ingredients into a smooth, uniform dough.
  8. 8. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel.
  9. 9. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
  10. 10. Divide the finished dough into 3 equal parts.
  11. 11. Roll each part into a strand about 30 centimeters long.
  12. 12. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  13. 13. Braid the three strands on the tray into a loaf by alternating them over each other.
  14. 14. Gently press the ends of the strands together to secure the braid.
  15. 15. Cover the braid and let it rest for another 15 minutes.
  16. 16. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
  17. 17. Brush the braid with 1 tablespoon of milk.
  18. 18. Bake the braid in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  19. 19. Let the yeast braid cool down slightly.
  20. 20. Serve the braid lukewarm or cold.
