🍽️ Homemade Classic Burger Buns

Ingredients
- milk 210 ml
- yeast, fresh 0.5 pcs
- sugar 1 tbsp
- butter 160 g
- eggs 4 pcs
- wheat flour, type 405 650 g
- salt 1 tsp
- sesame, white 3 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Warm up 200 milliliters of milk in a pot until it is lukewarm.
- 2. Crumble half a cube of yeast and one tablespoon of sugar into the warm milk.
- 3. Stir the mixture and let it rest for about 10 minutes until it has slightly dissolved.
- 4. Meanwhile, beat 160 grams of soft butter in a bowl with a hand mixer and whisk until creamy.
- 5. Stir in three eggs one by one into the butter mixture.
- 6. Pour in the yeast milk and add 300 grams of flour and a pinch of salt.
- 7. Mix the ingredients with the hand mixer for about 1 minute.
- 8. Add another 350 grams of flour and knead everything with a wooden spoon to form a dough.
- 9. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour until its volume has doubled.
- 10. Divide the dough into portions of 150 grams each.
- 11. Fold the edges of the dough balls towards the center and shape them into smooth balls.
- 12. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and cover them.
- 13. Let the buns rise again for about 30 minutes.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 15. Separate one egg and use the egg white for something else.
- 16. Whisk the egg yolk with one tablespoon of milk in a small bowl.
- 17. Brush the risen dough balls with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
- 18. Sprinkle the buns generously with sesame seeds.
- 19. Bake the buns in the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
- 20. Let the burger buns cool down completely before serving them.
- 21. Tip: Toast the cut sides of the buns briefly in a pan before filling them.
