🍽️ The Ultimate Smashed Cheeseburger

Ingredients
- mixed leaf lettuce 0.25 pc.
- vine tomatoes 1 pc.
- mayonnaise 5 tbsp.
- ketchup 2 tbsp.
- mustard 1 tsp.
- garlic, granulated 0.5 tsp.
- salt pinch
- butter 2 tbsp.
- hamburger buns 4 pc.
- ground beef 350 g
- oil 4 tsp.
- pepper, black ground pinch
- cheddar slices 4 slices
Instructions
- 1. Carefully separate the lettuce leaves from each other.
- 2. Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly under running water.
- 3. Shake the lettuce dry or pat it with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Wash the tomato under cold water.
- 5. Slice the tomato into thin, even slices.
- 6. Put mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic, and salt into a small bowl.
- 7. Stir the ingredients vigorously with a spoon until a homogeneous sauce forms.
- 8. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the sauce with a little more salt or spices if necessary.
- 9. Heat the butter in a pan over medium heat.
- 10. Cut the burger buns in half horizontally.
- 11. Place the bun halves with the cut side down into the hot pan.
- 12. Toast the buns for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 13. Remove the buns from the pan and set them aside.
- 14. Divide the minced meat into portions of approximately 80 grams each.
- 15. Shape each portion into a loose, not too firm ball.
- 16. Preheat a cast iron pan on the highest setting.
- 17. Add a little oil to the very hot pan.
- 18. Place one minced meat ball into the pan.
- 19. Immediately press the ball flat with a spatula until it is thin.
- 20. Season the flat meat slice (patty) with salt and pepper.
- 21. Fry the patty for about 2 to 3 minutes until it has a crust.
- 22. Flip the patty once to cook the other side.
- 23. Place a slice of cheese on the hot patty.
- 24. Continue frying the patty with cheese for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- 25. Remove the finished patty from the pan.
- 26. Spread one tablespoon of the prepared sauce on the bottom half of the bun.
- 27. Place the smashed patty on the juicy bun.
- 28. Add fresh lettuce leaves and tomato slices on top of the patty.
- 29. Spread the sauce on the top half of the bun as well.
- 30. Place the lid on the burger to close it.
- 31. Serve the classic smashed cheeseburger immediately while hot.
