  1. 1. Place the leaf gelatin in a bowl of cold water and let it soak.
  2. 2. Warm the cream in a pot over low heat.
  3. 3. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
  4. 4. Add the empty vanilla pod, the vanilla seeds, and the sugar to the warm cream.
  5. 5. Let the mixture steep for about 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Remove the vanilla pod from the cream.
  7. 7. Squeeze the soaked gelatin lightly and stir it into the warm cream until it is completely dissolved.
  8. 8. Distribute the mixture evenly among four glasses.
  9. 9. Let the panna cotta set in the refrigerator for about 3 hours.
