  3. 3. Place the cherries, vanilla sugar, and pectin sugar into a pot.
  4. 4. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it boils.
  5. 5. Let the jam simmer for about 3 minutes.
  6. 6. Drop one teaspoon of the warm jam onto a cold plate.
  7. 7. Wait about 1 minute and check if the jam sets.
  8. 8. If it is still liquid, cook for another 1 to 2 minutes and repeat the test.
  9. 9. Fill the hot jam into four clean screw-top jars with a capacity of 250 milliliters each.
  10. 10. Seal the jars tightly.
  11. 11. Turn the jars upside down so they cool on their lids.
