🍽️ Kasseler with Kale and Honey Potato Vegetable

Ingredients
- yellow onions 2 pcs
- fresh kale 800 g
- oil 2 tbsp
- salt pinch
- sugar pinch
- potatoes, mostly waxy 1 kg
- carrots 4 pcs
- Kasseler, in one piece 600 g
- mustard 2 tbsp
- fresh parsley 20 g
- honey 1 tbsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onions and peel them. Cut the onion flesh into small cubes.
- 2. Wash the kale thoroughly and dry it well. Remove the tough stems and cut the leaves into thin strips.
- 3. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pot over medium heat.
- 4. Add the onions and kale to the pot. Season with salt and sugar and sauté the mixture for about two minutes.
- 5. Reduce the heat and fry the vegetables for another three minutes.
- 6. Deglaze the vegetables with about 300 milliliters of water.
- 7. Cover the pot and let the vegetables cook for about 15 to 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- 8. Wash the potatoes and carrots and peel them.
- 9. Cut the potatoes and carrots into cubes.
- 10. Place the vegetables in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
- 11. Cook the vegetables over medium heat with the lid on for about 15 minutes.
- 12. Rinse the Kasseler under running water and pat it dry.
- 13. Season the Kasseler with a little salt.
- 14. After about 10 minutes of cooking time, mix the kale with mustard.
- 15. Place the Kasseler steaks on top of the kale.
- 16. Cover the pot and finish cooking the Kasseler.
- 17. Wash the parsley and shake it dry.
- 18. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems and cut them into thin strips.
- 19. Drain the cooked potato and carrot vegetables.
- 20. Let the vegetables steam for a short while.
- 21. Drizzle the honey evenly over the vegetables.
- 22. Season the vegetables with salt.
- 23. Add the cut parsley and mix everything well.
- 24. Remove the Kasseler from the pot.
- 25. Plate the Kasseler.
- 26. Season the kale with salt and pepper to taste.
- 27. Serve the kale together with the Kasseler and the honey potato vegetable.
