🍽️ Mashed Potatoes with Small Sausages and Fried Onions

Ingredients
- potatoes, floury-cooking 1 kg
- salt pinch
- onions, yellow 4 pcs.
- oil 3 tbsp
- mini roast sausages 12 pcs.
- milk 200 ml
- butter 4 tbsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
- nutmeg, ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes, wash them thoroughly, and cut them into large cubes. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the potatoes covered over medium heat for about 20–25 minutes until tender.
- 2. Halve the onions, peel them, and slice them into rings. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onions for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- 3. After about 15 minutes, add the sausages to the pan and fry them together with the onions until golden brown.
- 4. Drain the potatoes in a colander and briefly bring the milk to a boil in the pot. Melt the butter in the hot milk. Then return the potatoes to the pot and mash them with a potato masher until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 5. Serve the mashed potatoes on plates alongside the sausages and the fried onions.
