  1. 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them.
  2. 2. Slice the potatoes into very thin slices or use a grater.
  3. 3. Grease a small baking dish with a capacity of 400 ml with butter.
  4. 4. Layer the potato slices into the dish.
  5. 5. Season each layer with a pinch of salt, pepper, and ground nutmeg.
  6. 6. Wash the thyme and rosemary sprigs and shake them dry.
  7. 7. Pluck the small leaves from the thyme and the needles from the rosemary sprigs.
  8. 8. Chop the herbs finely.
  9. 9. Mix the cream in a bowl with the chopped herbs, salt, and pepper.
  10. 10. Pour the herb cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  11. 11. Place the dish into the basket of the air fryer.
  12. 12. Bake the potatoes at 150 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
  13. 13. Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the gratin.
  14. 14. Finish baking the dish at 175 degrees Celsius for another 12 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
