Ingredients
- Brown sugar 200 g
- Wheat beer 100 ml
- Bacon 400 g
- Chili, ground 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Place a pot on the stove and set the heat to medium.
- 3. Add the raw cane sugar and the beer to the pot.
- 4. Let the mixture boil for about 2 minutes until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- 5. Place the bacon on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 6. Brush the bacon with the hot beer syrup on both sides.
- 7. Sprinkle a pinch of chili evenly over the bacon.
- 8. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the bacon for about 10 minutes.
- 9. Turn the bacon once after about 5 minutes.
- 10. Continue baking the bacon for the remaining 5 minutes.
- 11. Remove the bacon from the oven and place it on a wire cooling rack.
- 12. Let the bacon cool down completely for about 10 minutes.
- 13. Serve the candied bacon and enjoy!
