  1. 1. Best thaw the cod overnight in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection). Wash the figs and cut them into small pieces. Halve the onions, peel them, and dice finely.
  2. 2. Heat some oil in a pot over high heat and sauté the figs together with the onions for about 2 minutes. Then sprinkle with sugar, mix well, and deglaze with the tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and chili, and simmer for approx. 10 minutes.
  3. 3. Rinse the cod, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper. Put the tomato-fig sauce into a baking dish, place the cod on top, and bake in the oven for about 15–20 minutes.
  4. 4. Wash the parsley, dry it well, pluck the leaves from the stems, and chop finely. Sprinkle the cod in the tomato-fig sauce with the chopped parsley and serve. Enjoy your meal! Tip: This goes well with [recipeLink=145751].
