  2. 2. Dice the ginger and turmeric very finely or grate them.
  3. 3. Cut the lemon in half.
  4. 4. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  5. 5. Add the chopped ginger, turmeric, brown sugar, water, and lemon juice to a pot.
  6. 6. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  7. 7. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
  8. 8. Let the syrup steep for about 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Strain the finished syrup through a fine mesh sieve.
  10. 10. Pour the syrup immediately into sterilized jars or bottles.
  11. 11. Seal the containers immediately after filling.
  12. 12. Store the syrup in a cool, dark place until you are ready to use it.
