  1. 1. Take the butter out of the fridge and cut it into large cubes.
  2. 2. Put the butter cubes, 130 g powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, an egg, and the flour into a bowl.
  3. 3. Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. If the dough is too dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water.
  5. 5. Wrap the dough in cling film.
  6. 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to rest.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat.
  8. 8. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface.
  9. 9. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of about 3 millimeters.
  10. 10. Cut out hearts with a diameter of approx. 5 centimeters using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  11. 11. Take half of the heart cookies and cut out a smaller heart in the center.
  12. 12. Place all cookies with some space between them on baking trays lined with baking paper.
  13. 13. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes.
  14. 14. Take the cookies out of the oven when they are golden yellow and crunchy.
  15. 15. Let the cookies cool completely on a cake rack.
  16. 16. Warm the jam in a small pot.
  17. 17. Stir the jam until smooth so that there are no more lumps.
  18. 18. Brush the whole heart cookies thinly with the warm jam.
  19. 19. Place the heart cookies with the hole on top of the hearts brushed with jam.
  20. 20. Let the assembled cookies dry.
  21. 21. Then dust the finished heart cookies with powdered sugar.
  22. 22. Store the cookies in an airtight container.
