🍰 Crunchy Heart Cookies with Jam Filling

Ingredients
- butter 150 g
- powdered sugar 150 tsp
- salt pinch
- eggs 1 pcs
- wheat flour, type 405 275 g
- currant jam 150 g
Instructions
- 1. Take the butter out of the fridge and cut it into large cubes.
- 2. Put the butter cubes, 130 g powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, an egg, and the flour into a bowl.
- 3. Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 4. If the dough is too dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water.
- 5. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to rest.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat.
- 8. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface.
- 9. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of about 3 millimeters.
- 10. Cut out hearts with a diameter of approx. 5 centimeters using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- 11. Take half of the heart cookies and cut out a smaller heart in the center.
- 12. Place all cookies with some space between them on baking trays lined with baking paper.
- 13. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes.
- 14. Take the cookies out of the oven when they are golden yellow and crunchy.
- 15. Let the cookies cool completely on a cake rack.
- 16. Warm the jam in a small pot.
- 17. Stir the jam until smooth so that there are no more lumps.
- 18. Brush the whole heart cookies thinly with the warm jam.
- 19. Place the heart cookies with the hole on top of the hearts brushed with jam.
- 20. Let the assembled cookies dry.
- 21. Then dust the finished heart cookies with powdered sugar.
- 22. Store the cookies in an airtight container.
