🍽️ Savory Upside-Down Tarts with Shallots

Ingredients
- shallots 8 pcs
- thyme, fresh 5 g
- puff pastry 1 pcs
- cream cheese, plain 8 tsp
- eggs 1 pcs
- olive oil 8 tsp
- balsamic vinegar, dark 4 tsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Cut the shallots in half and peel off the outer skin.
- 3. Wash the thyme and pick the small leaves off the tough stems.
- 4. Divide the puff pastry into 8 equal pieces.
- 5. Spread 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in the center of each pastry piece.
- 6. Separate an egg and lightly whisk the yolk.
- 7. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 8. Distribute 8 teaspoons of olive oil individually on the tray.
- 9. Add a little balsamic vinegar and pepper to each oil drop.
- 10. Distribute the thyme leaves over the 8 oil spots.
- 11. Place two shallot halves on each thyme spot.
- 12. Place a pastry piece over the shallots with the cream cheese side facing down.
- 13. Press the edges of the pastry lightly onto the baking paper.
- 14. Brush the top of the tarts with the whisked egg yolk.
- 15. Bake the tarts in the lower third of the oven for approx. 20 minutes.
- 16. Remove the tarts from the oven and let them cool down briefly.
- 17. Carefully loosen the tarts from the baking paper.
- 18. Serve the tarts lukewarm or cold.
