🍰 Crispy Hazelnut Strips

Ingredients
- Egg 1 pc.
- Butter 125 g
- Icing sugar 100 g
- Salt pinch
- Hazelnut kernels, ground 100 g
- Wheat flour, Type 405 280 g
- Hazelnut kernels, whole 25 g
- Chocolate, dark 100 g
Instructions
- 1. Separate the egg. Use the egg white for another recipe.
- 2. Beat the butter in a bowl until soft.
- 3. Add powdered sugar, salt, the egg yolk, the ground nuts, and the flour to the butter.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 6. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
- 7. Roll out the dough in portions on a floured surface to a thickness of about 5 millimeters.
- 8. Cut the dough into strips of approx. 2.5 x 6 cm.
- 9. Place the strips on baking sheets lined with baking paper.
- 10. Place the baking sheets in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
- 11. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
- 12. Slide the baking sheets into the oven one after the other.
- 13. Bake the hazelnut strips for about 15 to 17 minutes until they are light brown and crispy.
- 14. Let the strips cool down completely.
- 15. Bring about 500 ml of water to a boil in a pot.
- 16. Chop the hazelnuts coarsely.
- 17. Chop the chocolate.
- 18. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over the hot water bath.
- 19. Dip each hazelnut strip halfway into the melted chocolate.
- 20. Let the chocolate drip off well.
- 21. Sprinkle the chocolate strips with the chopped nuts.
- 22. Let the strips dry on baking paper.
