  1. 1. Put flour, baking powder, salt, chopped hazelnuts, chocolate chips, vanilla sugar, and granulated sugar into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Mix all the dry ingredients well together.
  3. 3. Add the softened butter to the mixture.
  4. 4. Knead everything with your hands until a firm and compact dough forms.
  5. 5. Wrap the dough tightly in cling film.
  6. 6. Put the foil with the dough in the fridge for about 2 hours to let it rest.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan (convection).
  8. 8. Take small portions of the dough that are about the size of a walnut.
  9. 9. Roll these portions into round balls.
  10. 10. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  11. 11. Place the dough balls on the tray with some space between them.
  12. 12. Bake the balls in the oven for about 12 minutes.
  13. 13. Take the tray out of the oven and let the balls cool down completely.
  14. 14. Spread powdered sugar on a flat plate.
  15. 15. Roll the cooled balls all around in the powdered sugar.
  16. 16. Store the finished snowballs in a closed container.
