  1. 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
  2. 2. Place the potatoes in a pot with salted water.
  3. 3. Bring the water to a boil.
  4. 4. Cook the potatoes for approx. 20 minutes with the lid closed.
  5. 5. Wash the lemon.
  6. 6. Cut the lemon in half.
  7. 7. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  8. 8. Cut the onion in half.
  9. 9. Peel the onion halves.
  10. 10. Dice the onion finely.
  11. 11. Slice the gherkins into thin slices.
  12. 12. Rinse the thawed cod.
  13. 13. Pat the cod dry with a kitchen towel.
  14. 14. Cut the cod into pieces of 2–3 cm.
  15. 15. Season the cod with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  16. 16. Drain the cooked potatoes.
  17. 17. Peel the potatoes.
  18. 18. Slice the potatoes.
  19. 19. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and oil in a pan over high heat.
  20. 20. Fry the potato slices in it for approx. 7 minutes until golden brown.
  21. 21. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in another pan.
  22. 22. Fry the fish for approx. 3 minutes on each side.
  23. 23. Wrap the finished cod in aluminum foil.

  32. 32. Simmer the sauce for approx. 6 minutes.

  34. 34. Stir the mustard into the sauce.
  35. 35. Season the mustard sauce with salt and pepper.
  36. 36. Place the fried potatoes on the plates.
  37. 37. Place the Hamburger Pannfisch on the potatoes.
  38. 38. Pour the mustard sauce over the fish.
  39. 39. Garnish the dish with the gherkins.
