  1. 1. Halve the onion and remove the skin.
  2. 2. Dice the onion into small cubes.
  3. 3. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  4. 4. Sauté the onion cubes for about two minutes until translucent.
  5. 5. Stir in tomato paste and one tablespoon of sugar with the onions.
  6. 6. Fry the mixture for about one minute.
  7. 7. Add the tomatoes and let the sauce simmer on low heat for five minutes.
  8. 8. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. 9. Rinse the sausages and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
  10. 10. Cut two sausages in half crosswise to form thumbs.
  11. 11. Trim the remaining sausages to three-quarters of their original length.
  12. 12. Trim the ends of the sausages to create clean finger tips.
  13. 13. Place an almond slice on each sausage end as a fingernail.
  14. 14. Make two small cuts in the middle of each finger to simulate knuckles.
  15. 15. Place the sausage fingers on a plate and arrange them into a hand shape.
  16. 16. Cover the sausage tips with the prepared tomato sauce.
  17. 17. Arrange the spooky sausage hand and serve it.
