🍰 Halloween Whoopie Pies

Ingredients
- flour, Type 405 250 g
- baking powder 1 tsp
- sugar 150 g
- salt pinch
- cocoa powder 40 g
- butter 270 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- vanilla extract 2 tsp
- buttermilk 200 ml
- powdered sugar 150 g
- food coloring, red 3 g
- food coloring, yellow 3 g
- cream cheese, plain 150 g
- white chocolate coating 75 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Line three baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
- 3. Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, a pinch of salt, and cocoa in a bowl.
- 4. Add the soft butter, egg, vanilla extract, and gradually the buttermilk.
- 5. Stir everything together until you have a smooth dough.
- 6. Portion the dough using a medium ice cream scoop.
- 7. Distribute the dough portions evenly on the trays, leaving enough space between them.
- 8. Bake all trays simultaneously in the preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius fan-forced for 13 to 14 minutes.
- 9. Remove the trays from the oven.
- 10. Let the cookies cool down completely on the trays.
- 11. Beat the soft butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for 3 to 4 minutes until white and creamy.
- 12. Color the cream with the food coloring.
- 13. Stir the cream cheese into the colored cream.
- 14. Fill the cream into a piping bag with a large round tip.
- 15. Take two cookies of approximately the same shape.
- 16. Place one cookie with the smooth side facing up.
- 17. Pipe some cream onto the smooth side.
- 18. Place the second cookie on top with the smooth side facing down.
- 19. Gently press the two cookies together.
- 20. Melt the chocolate coating in the microwave or over a bain-marie.
- 21. Fill the melted chocolate into a small piping bag or freezer bag.
- 22. Pipe spider webs with the chocolate onto the whoopie pies.
- 23. Let the chocolate set.
- 24. Store the whoopie pies in the refrigerator.
