🍽️ Chicken Skewers with Oven-Roasted Tomatoes and Onion Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- chicken breast fillets 600 g
- garlic cloves 1 pcs
- sunflower oil 6 tbsp
- turmeric, ground 0.5 tsp
- cumin 0.5 tsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
- salt pinch
- pearl onions 1 pcs
- vine tomatoes 8 pcs
- butter 2 tbsp
- sesame, white 4 tbsp
- sour cream 200 g
- flatbread 1 pcs
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Rinse the chicken meat and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the meat into small cubes.
- 4. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 5. Mix oil, the chopped garlic, turmeric, cumin, pepper, and salt in a bowl.
- 6. Set aside one tablespoon of this spice mixture.
- 7. Marinate the chicken cubes with the remaining spiced oil.
- 8. Halve the onions and peel them.
- 9. Cut the peeled onions into cubes.
- 10. Rinse the tomatoes and halve them.
- 11. Place the onion cubes and tomato halves in a baking dish.
- 12. Drizzle the vegetables with the reserved tablespoon of spiced oil.
- 13. Bake the vegetables in the oven for about 25 minutes.
- 14. Heat one tablespoon of butter in a pan over high heat.
- 15. Remove the marinated chicken cubes from the oil.
- 16. Thread the meat cubes onto wooden skewers.
- 17. Fry the skewers in the hot pan for about 6 minutes.
- 18. Pour the remaining spiced oil over the skewers in the pan.
- 19. Toss the pan briefly to coat the skewers well.
- 20. Remove the skewers from the pan.
- 21. Wrap the skewers in aluminum foil and keep them warm.
- 22. Melt another tablespoon of butter in the same pan over high heat.
- 23. Sauté the onion cubes in the pan juices for about 4 minutes until translucent.
- 24. Add sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper.
- 25. Stir the sour cream into the onions.
- 26. Take the oven tomatoes out of the oven.
- 27. Plate the skewers, the oven tomatoes, and the onion sauce.
- 28. Serve the dish with flatbread.
