Ingredients
- thyme, fresh 10 g
- chili, ground pinch
- sugar pinch
- paprika, sweet 1 tsp
- salt pinch
- olive oil 6 tbsp
- chicken drumsticks 800 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan.
- 2. Rinse the thyme thoroughly and pat it dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Strip the thyme leaves from the stems and chop them finely.
- 4. Add chili powder, sugar, paprika powder, the chopped thyme, and one teaspoon of salt to a bowl.
- 5. Mix the spices with oil until a uniform spice paste forms.
- 6. Rinse the chicken drumsticks and pat them dry.
- 7. Coat the chicken drumsticks evenly with half of the spice paste.
- 8. Place the chicken drumsticks in a baking dish.
- 9. Bake the chicken in the oven for about 30 minutes.
- 10. Save the remaining spice paste for later.
- 11. Increase the oven temperature to 240 degrees.
- 12. Turn the chicken drumsticks in the dish.
- 13. Brush the chicken drumsticks with the saved spice paste.
- 14. Bake the chicken for another 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
- 15. Check for doneness: Cut into a thick part and look for clear meat juices.
