🍽️ Minced Meat and Carrot Casserole with Feta

Ingredients
- Carrots 6 pcs
- Onions, yellow 1 pc
- Garlic cloves 1 pc
- Feta 200 g
- Oil 3 tbsp
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Honey 1 tsp
- Orange juice 75 ml
- Minced meat, mixed 600 g
- Oregano, dried pinch
- Creme fraiche 150 g
- Milk 50 ml
- Gouda, grated 150 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Wash the carrots thoroughly under running water.
- 3. Peel the carrots.
- 4. Cut the carrots in half lengthwise.
- 5. Slice the carrots into thin rounds.
- 6. Cut the onion in half.
- 7. Peel the onion.
- 8. Dice the onion finely.
- 9. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 10. Mince the garlic finely.
- 11. Cut the feta cheese into small cubes.
- 12. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large frying pan over high heat.
- 13. Fry the carrot slices for about five minutes.
- 14. Season the carrots with salt and pepper.
- 15. Add the honey to the carrots.
- 16. Caramelize the honey for about one minute.
- 17. Deglaze the pan with orange juice.
- 18. Let the mixture simmer for about two minutes.
- 19. Transfer the carrots into a baking dish.
- 20. Wipe the frying pan clean briefly.
- 21. Heat two tablespoons of oil in the pan over high heat.
- 22. Fry the minced meat together with the onion and garlic for about five minutes.
- 23. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- 24. Set aside half of the feta cubes.
- 25. Add the minced meat and the remaining half of the feta to the baking dish.
- 26. Mix the minced meat and feta thoroughly.
- 27. Place the remaining feta into a tall container.
- 28. Add the crème fraîche and the milk.
- 29. Blend the mixture until smooth.
- 30. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 31. Pour the sauce over the minced meat.
- 32. Sprinkle the casserole with cheese.
- 33. Bake the casserole for about twenty minutes in the oven.
- 34. Plate the casserole on dishes.
- 35. Serve the dish.
