🍽️ Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki

Ingredients
- onions, red 2 pcs.
- garlic cloves 2 pcs.
- sliced chicken 400 g
- chicken seasoning salt 1 tbsp
- olive oil 8 tbsp
- long grain rice 300 g
- salt pinch
- cucumbers 2 pcs.
- yogurt, plain 300 g
- pepper, black ground pinch
- cherry tomatoes 300 g
- dill, fresh 20 g
- organic limes 1 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onions and remove the skin.
- 2. Cut the onions into thin strips.
- 3. Peel the garlic.
- 4. Finely chop the garlic.
- 5. Take a bowl.
- 6. Add half of the garlic to the bowl.
- 7. Add the onion strips to the bowl.
- 8. Add the sliced chicken to the bowl.
- 9. Add the chicken seasoning salt to the bowl.
- 10. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl.
- 11. Mix all ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
- 12. Set the bowl aside to let the meat marinate.
- 13. Take a pot.
- 14. Put the rice in the pot.
- 15. Cover the rice with about 700 milliliters of salted water.
- 16. Bring the water to a boil.
- 17. Reduce the heat to low to medium.
- 18. Cover the pot.
- 19. Let the rice cook for about 15 minutes.
- 20. Wash the cucumbers.
- 21. Cut off the ends of half a cucumber.
- 22. Take a bowl.
- 23. Grate the half cucumber coarsely into the bowl.
- 24. Peel the remaining garlic.
- 25. Add the remaining garlic to the grated cucumbers.
- 26. Add yogurt to the grated cucumbers.
- 27. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the grated cucumbers.
- 28. Mix everything well.
- 29. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 30. Slice the remaining cucumber diagonally into thin strips.
- 31. Wash the tomatoes.
- 32. Quarter the tomatoes.
- 33. Wash the dill.
- 34. Remove the coarse stems from the dill.
- 35. Finely chop the dill.
- 36. Wash the lime.
- 37. Halve the lime.
- 38. Squeeze the juice from the lime.
- 39. Take a bowl.
- 40. Add 2 tablespoons of lime juice to the bowl.
- 41. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl.
- 42. Whisk the lime juice and olive oil together.
- 43. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 44. Add the cucumber strips to the bowl.
- 45. Add the tomatoes to the bowl.
- 46. Add the dill to the bowl.
- 47. Add the remaining onion strips to the bowl.
- 48. Mix all salad ingredients together.
- 49. Set the salad aside.
- 50. Take a pan.
- 51. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan.
- 52. Heat the oil over medium to high heat.
- 53. Sear the chicken in the pan.
- 54. Stir the chicken occasionally.
- 55. Cook the chicken for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- 56. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 57. Cover the gyros in the pan.
- 58. Let the gyros rest for another approx. 3 minutes.
- 59. Fluff the rice with a fork.
- 60. Take plates.
- 61. Plate the gyros.
- 62. Plate the tomato-cucumber salad.
- 63. Plate the tzatziki.
- 64. Plate the rice.
- 65. Drizzle the dish with some of the remaining lime juice.
