🍰 Classic Donuts with Sugar Glaze

Ingredients
- Milk 250 ml
- Yeast, fresh 1 pc
- Sugar 80 g
- Wheat flour, Type 405 600 g
- Salt pinch
- butter 150 g
- Eggs 2 pc
- Frying oil 1 L
- Water 2 tbsp
- Powdered sugar 125 g
- Food coloring, red 0.5 tsp
- Sugar sprinkles 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Warm the milk in a pot until it is lukewarm.
- 2. Add the yeast and one tablespoon of sugar to the milk.
- 3. Stir until the yeast and sugar have completely dissolved.
- 4. Cover the bowl and let the mixture rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
- 5. In a large bowl, mix 70 grams of sugar, 600 grams of flour, a pinch of salt, and 150 grams of diced butter.
- 6. Pour the yeast milk and the two eggs into the flour mixture.
- 7. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 8. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 9. Wait until the volume of the dough has approximately doubled.
- 10. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of about 1.5 centimeters.
- 11. Cut circles with a diameter of about 8 centimeters from the dough using a cutter.
- 12. Cut out a small circle from the center of each circle to create the donut shape.
- 13. Heat oil in a pot for frying.
- 14. Test the oil temperature by holding a wooden spoon handle in the oil.
- 15. The oil is ready when small bubbles rise around the handle.
- 16. Fry the donuts one by one in the hot oil.
- 17. Fry them for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden yellow.
- 18. Remove the finished donuts from the oil.
- 19. Place them on kitchen paper to drain the excess oil.
- 20. Let the donuts cool completely.
- 21. Whisk water, powdered sugar, and food coloring in a bowl.
- 22. Pour the glaze over the cooled donuts.
- 23. Sprinkle the donuts with sugar pearls.
- 24. Serve the donuts and enjoy them.
