  5. 5. Wash the basil thoroughly and shake it dry.
  6. 6. Pluck the basil leaves off the stems.
  7. 7. Place the roasted pine nuts, basil, Parmesan, and garlic into a tall blending cup.
  8. 8. Pour in the olive oil and blend the ingredients into a smooth paste.
  9. 9. Season the pesto to taste with salt.
  10. 10. Transfer the pesto into a jar or serve it immediately.
