  1. 1. Roughly chop the walnuts.
  2. 2. Toast the nuts in a pan without oil over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
  3. 3. Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the walnuts to a plate.
  4. 4. Wash the pears thoroughly.
  5. 5. Cut the pears into quarters and remove the core.
  6. 6. Dice the pear quarters into small cubes.
  7. 7. Cut the onion in half and peel it.
  8. 8. Finely dice the onion.
  9. 9. Wash the kale thoroughly.
  10. 10. Remove the tough stem from the kale.
  11. 11. Roughly chop the kale leaves into pieces.
  12. 12. Bring about 1.5 liters of salted water to a boil in a pot.
  13. 13. Add the kale to the boiling water for about 1 minute (this is called blanching).
  14. 14. Remove the kale from the water and rinse it in a colander.
  15. 15. Let the kale drain well.
  16. 16. Add the bacon to the same pot and heat it over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  17. 17. Add the diced onion, pears, kale, and about 400 ml of water to the pot.
  18. 18. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  19. 19. Cook everything over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  20. 20. Rinse the beans in a colander.
  21. 21. Add the beans and cream cheese to the pot.
  22. 22. Mix all ingredients well together.
  23. 23. Warm the mixture for another 3 minutes over medium heat.
  24. 24. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the dish with salt and pepper.
  25. 25. Serve the kale on plates.
  26. 26. Sprinkle the dish with the toasted walnuts.
