  1. 1. Bring about 1 liter of water with salt to a boil in a pot.
  2. 2. Add the green peas to the boiling water and cook them for about 2 minutes (this is called blanching).
  3. 3. Drain the peas and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. 4. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan without fat over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. 5. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  6. 6. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half.
  7. 7. Place the cooled peas, lemon juice, chopped garlic, half of the toasted sesame seeds, and cumin into a tall container.
  8. 8. Blend the ingredients until very smooth.
  9. 9. If the mixture is too thick, add a little cold water.
  10. 10. Season the hummus with salt to taste.
  11. 11. Spread the hummus onto a plate.
  12. 12. Drizzle some olive oil over it and sprinkle with the remaining sesame seeds.
  13. 13. Serve the hummus and enjoy your meal!
