  1. 1. Place the cherries in a colander to let the juice drain. Collect about 150 milliliters of cherry juice.
  2. 2. Bring the collected cherry juice to a boil in a pot.
  3. 3. Mix the starch in a small bowl with a little cold water until you have a smooth mixture.
  4. 4. Add the starch-water mixture to the boiling cherry juice.
  5. 5. Simmer the mixture for about 2 minutes while stirring constantly.
  6. 6. Add the drained cherries to the pot.
  7. 7. Remove the pot from the heat to finish the cherry mixture.
  8. 8. Bring milk, sugar, and salt to a boil in a separate pot.
  9. 9. Slowly sprinkle the semolina into the boiling milk while stirring constantly.
  10. 10. Let the semolina porridge swell for about 3 to 5 minutes over low heat.
  11. 11. Stir occasionally to prevent the porridge from becoming too thick.
  12. 12. Portion the warm semolina porridge into small bowls.
  13. 13. Top the pudding with the hot cherries and serve the dish.
