🍽️ Greek Souvlaki Skewers with Pita Bread

Ingredients
- pork minute steaks 600 g
- souvlaki spice 1 tbsp
- oil 6 tbsp
- yogurt, plain 250 g
- water 100 ml
- salt pinch
- wheat flour, Type 550 250 g
- baking powder 1 tsp
- lemons 1 pc
- parsley, fresh 10 g
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the pork minute steaks under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the meat into wide strips.
- 4. Place the meat strips in a bowl.
- 5. Add the souvlaki seasoning and 2 tablespoons of oil.
- 6. Mix everything well so the meat is evenly coated.
- 7. Set the bowl aside to let the meat marinate.
- 8. Put 50 grams of yogurt, water, 2 tablespoons of oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a separate bowl.
- 9. Mix these ingredients thoroughly together.
- 10. Add flour and baking powder to the yogurt mixture.
- 11. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 12. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
- 13. Roll each part into a flatbread about 1 cm thick.
- 14. Heat a pan with a minimal amount of oil over medium heat.
- 15. Cook the pita breads one by one in the pan.
- 16. Bake them on both sides for approx. 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 17. Season the marinated meat with a little salt.
- 18. Thread one meat strip onto a wooden skewer.
- 19. Heat another pan with 1 tablespoon of oil.
- 20. Fry the skewers for approx. 3 minutes on each side.
- 21. Halve a lemon.
- 22. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 23. Wash the parsley.
- 24. Dry the parsley thoroughly.
- 25. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems.
- 26. Finely chop the parsley leaves.
- 27. Put the remaining yogurt into a bowl.
- 28. Mix the yogurt with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and the chopped parsley.
- 29. Season the dip with salt and pepper to taste.
- 30. Serve the souvlaki skewers together with the pita bread and the yogurt dip.
