🍽️ Spicy Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- garlic cloves 2 pcs.
- onions, yellow 1 pcs.
- chili pepper mix 1 pcs.
- tomatoes, dried 80 g
- olive oil 2 tbsp
- sugar pinch
- balsamic vinegar, dark 4 tbsp
- tomatoes, chopped 400 g
- salt pinch
- gnocchi, fresh 800 g
- pine nuts 2 tbsp
- basil, fresh 20 g
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic cloves and halve the onion.
- 2. Finely dice the onion and garlic.
- 3. Thoroughly wash the chili peppers under running water.
- 4. Remove the seeds from the chili peppers and slice them into thin strips.
- 5. Drain the sun-dried tomatoes.
- 6. Slice the sun-dried tomatoes into strips as well.
- 7. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- 8. Sauté the onions, garlic, and chili peppers for two to three minutes.
- 9. Add the sugar and let it melt for about one minute.
- 10. Deglaze the mixture with balsamic vinegar.
- 11. Add the chopped tomatoes and the sun-dried tomato strips to the sauce.
- 12. Simmer the sauce without a lid for about 15 minutes.
- 13. Bring four liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot.
- 14. Cook the gnocchi for about four minutes until they float to the surface.
- 15. Heat a non-stick pan over medium to high heat.
- 16. Toast the pine nuts for two to three minutes until golden brown.
- 17. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
- 18. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 19. Slice the basil leaves into thin strips.
- 20. Drain the gnocchi in a colander.
- 21. Toss the gnocchi with the tomato sauce.
- 22. Plate the gnocchi.
- 23. Garnish the dish with the toasted pine nuts and basil.
