  1. 1. Peel the garlic cloves and slice them into very thin pieces.
  2. 2. Wash the lemon under hot water.
  3. 3. Grate about one teaspoon of fine lemon zest.
  4. 4. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
  5. 5. Wash the parsley and shake it dry.
  6. 6. Pick the parsley leaves off the stems.
  7. 7. Chop the parsley leaves coarsely.
  8. 8. Bring about five liters of water with salt to a boil in a pot.
  9. 9. Cook the gnocchi in the boiling salted water for about four to five minutes.
  10. 10. Remove the gnocchi as soon as they float to the surface.
  11. 11. Lift the gnocchi out of the water with a slotted spoon.
  12. 12. Let the gnocchi drain in a sieve.
  13. 13. Save some of the cooking water for later.
  14. 14. Heat five tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over low to medium heat.
  15. 15. Add the garlic slices, one teaspoon of chili flakes, and the lemon zest to the pan.
  16. 16. Heat the spices in the pan for about three minutes.
  17. 17. Add the gnocchi to the pan.
  18. 18. Fry the gnocchi in the pan for about four to five minutes.
  19. 19. Add a few tablespoons of the saved cooking water as desired.
  20. 20. Fold the chopped parsley into the gnocchi.
  21. 21. Season the dish with the lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  22. 22. Distribute the gnocchi onto plates and serve.
