🥤 Homemade Mulled Wine Syrup

Ingredients
- Oranges 1 pc.
- Red wine, dry 400 ml
- Brown sugar 200 g
- Vanilla sugar 0.5 packet
- Star anise 1 pc.
- Cinnamon stick 0.5 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Wash the orange under hot water.
- 2. Grate about one teaspoon of the orange peel finely.
- 3. Cut the orange in half.
- 4. Squeeze the juice from the orange.
- 5. Put the orange juice, the grated peel, the red wine, the sugar, the vanilla sugar, the star anise, and the cinnamon stick into a pot.
- 6. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it comes to a boil.
- 7. Let the syrup simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
- 8. Strain the mulled wine syrup through a sieve.
- 9. Fill the syrup immediately into sterilized jars or bottles.
- 10. Seal the jars or bottles immediately.
- 11. Store the syrup in a cool and dark place until you are ready to use it.
