🥤 Refreshing Ginger Basil Spritz

Ingredients
- ginger, fresh 40 g
- water 50 ml
- brown sugar 20 g
- basilica, fresh 20 g
- grapefruit 1 pc.
- ice cubes 50 g
- ginger ale 100 ml
Instructions
- 1. Peel the ginger root.
- 2. Grate the ginger finely.
- 3. Put water, sugar, and the grated ginger into a pot.
- 4. Bring the mixture to a boil in a pot.
- 5. Let the mixture simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 6. Pour the hot syrup through a fine sieve to remove the ginger residue.
- 7. Let the sugar syrup cool down.
- 8. Wash the basil leaves under cold water.
- 9. Shake the leaves dry.
- 10. Carefully pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 11. Cut the grapefruit in half.
- 12. Squeeze the juice out of the grapefruit.
- 13. Put the basil leaves into a shaker.
- 14. Add two tablespoons of the cooled sugar syrup to the shaker.
- 15. Muddle the basil and syrup lightly in the shaker.
- 16. Add 50 grams of ice cubes to the shaker.
- 17. Add two tablespoons of grapefruit juice to the shaker.
- 18. Shake the mixture vigorously in the shaker.
- 19. Fill a drinking glass with fresh ice cubes.
- 20. Pour the shaker mixture through a sieve into the prepared glass.
- 21. Top up the drink with ginger ale.
- 22. Pour the remaining sugar syrup into a bottle to keep it fresh longer.
