  1. 1. Wash a lime under hot water and dry it.
  2. 2. Grate the lime peel finely and add it to the mixing container together with the sugar.
  3. 3. Pulverize the mixture for 20 seconds on the highest setting.
  4. 4. Push the mixture down from the walls of the container using a spatula.
  5. 5. Pour 200 milliliters of hot water into the mixture.
  6. 6. Boil the liquid for 5 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius on setting 2.
  7. 7. Halve the remaining limes and squeeze out the juice.
  8. 8. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  9. 9. Pluck the leaves from the stems.
  10. 10. Add the basil leaves, lime juice, gin, and tonic water to the mixing container.
  11. 11. Mix everything for 30 seconds on the highest setting.
  12. 12. Line a baking dish with cling film.
  13. 13. Pour the sorbet mixture into the prepared dish.
  14. 14. Place the dish in the freezer for at least 8 hours.
  15. 15. Take the dish out of the freezer.
  16. 16. Place the dish in hot water for a short 10 seconds.
  17. 17. Lift the frozen sorbet out with the foil and place it on a board.
  18. 18. Remove the foil.
  19. 19. Cut the sorbet into cubes of approx. 4 x 4 centimeters.
  20. 20. Put the cubes back into the mixing container.
  21. 21. Puree the sorbet for 10 seconds on setting 8.
  22. 22. Serve the ice cream immediately.
