  1. 1. Bring the sugar together with water in a pot to a boil until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then let it cool down.
  2. 2. Wash the basil thoroughly, drain it and separate the leaves from the stems. Set aside a small basil tip for decoration. Halve a lemon and squeeze out the juice.
  3. 3. Muddle the basil leaves with the sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker using a pestle. Then add half of the ice cubes, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and gin and shake vigorously for about 1 minute.
  4. 4. Fill ice cubes into a glass. Strain the Gin Basil Smash through a sieve into the glass. Decorate with the reserved basil tip and enjoy. Cheers!
