  3. 3. Place the slices side by side on two baking sheets lined with baking paper.
  4. 4. Sprinkle some sugar, salt, and pepper over the tomatoes.
  5. 5. Dry the tomatoes in the oven for three hours.
  6. 6. Remove the tomatoes when they are still slightly soft.
  7. 7. Let the tomatoes cool down briefly on the tray.
  8. 8. Carefully peel the tomatoes off the baking paper.
  9. 9. Let the tomatoes cool down completely.
  10. 10. Wash the herbs and dry them thoroughly.
  11. 11. Pluck the leaves or needles off the stems.
  12. 12. Peel the garlic and cut it in half lengthwise.
  13. 13. Place the cooled tomatoes, garlic, and herbs into a clean jar.
  14. 14. Fill oil into the jar until everything is completely covered.
  15. 15. Seal the jar tightly.
  16. 16. Let the tomatoes marinate in the refrigerator for two to three days.
  17. 17. Drain the tomatoes before serving.
  18. 18. Serve the tomatoes, for example, with fresh baguette.
