  2. 2. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
  3. 3. Pour 500 milliliters of water, 100 grams of sugar, and the lemon juice into a pot.
  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. 5. Wash the apples thoroughly.
  6. 6. Core the apples to remove the seeds and tough center.
  7. 7. Slice the apples into rounds about 0.5 centimeters thick.
  8. 8. Place the apple slices into the boiling syrup.
  9. 9. Cook the apples in the syrup for 3 minutes.
  10. 10. Pour the apple rings into a colander and let them drain well.
  11. 11. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
  12. 12. Arrange the apple rings side by side on the baking sheets.
  13. 13. Place the sheets in the oven and dry the apples for 4.5 hours.
  14. 14. Remove the apple rings from the oven and let them cool down completely.
  15. 15. Store the finished rings airtight in a jar.
