  1. 1. Bring about 5 liters of water with salt to a boil in a large pot.
  2. 2. Halve the onion, peel it, and chop it finely.
  3. 3. Wipe the mushrooms with a kitchen towel if necessary and slice them.
  4. 4. Wash the parsley thoroughly, shake it dry, remove the coarse stems, and chop it finely.
  5. 5. Rinse the schnitzel, pat them dry with kitchen paper, and cut them into strips.
  6. 6. Cook the pasta in the boiling salted water for about 9 minutes.
  7. 7. Drain the pasta in a colander.
  8. 8. Reserve about one cup of the pasta cooking water in the process.
  9. 9. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  10. 10. Fry the cut schnitzel strips for approx. 2 minutes.
  11. 11. Add the onions and mushrooms and fry everything together for about 4 minutes.
  12. 12. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  13. 13. Deglaze the mixture with cream.
  14. 14. Stir in about 150 ml of the reserved pasta water.
  15. 15. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for approx. 5 minutes.
  16. 16. Add the pasta to the pan and mix it well with the sauce.
  17. 17. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  18. 18. Plate the sliced meat with mushrooms.
  19. 19. Garnish the dish with the chopped parsley.
