  4. 4. Take the butter out of the refrigerator so it becomes soft.
  5. 5. Peel the onion and cut it in half.
  6. 6. Cut the onion halves into thin strips.
  7. 7. Wash the chives and shake them dry.
  8. 8. Cut the chives into fine rings.
  9. 9. Heat one tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium heat.
  10. 10. Fry the onion strips for about five minutes.
  11. 11. Sprinkle sugar over the onions.
  12. 12. Let the onions caramelize.
  13. 13. Let the onions cool down slightly.
  14. 14. Preheat the grill.
  15. 15. Grill the Porterhouse steak for about five to seven minutes on both sides.
