🍽️ Steamed Salmon on Creamy Horseradish Mashed Potatoes with Colorful Root Vegetables

Ingredients
- salmon fillet, frozen 500 g
- potatoes, floury 1 kg
- salt pinch
- kohlrabi 2 pcs.
- carrots 3 pcs.
- oranges 1 pcs.
- pepper, mixed pinch
- butter 3 tbsp
- cream horseradish 2 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Let the salmon thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
- 2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.
- 3. Place the potato cubes in a pot with salted water and bring to a boil.
- 4. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let the potatoes cook for about 20 minutes.
- 5. Peel the kohlrabi and carrots.
- 6. Cut the vegetables into batons.
- 7. Heat about 2 liters of salted water in a separate pot.
- 8. Wash the orange thoroughly and slice it.
- 9. Rinse the salmon and pat it dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
- 10. Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
- 11. Place the salmon in a steamer basket and cover it with the orange slices.
- 12. Add the carrots and kohlrabi to the boiling water.
- 13. Hang the steamer basket with the salmon in the pot, ensuring it does not touch the water.
- 14. Steam the vegetables and salmon together for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- 15. Drain the potatoes using the lid.
- 16. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pot and mash the potatoes into a puree.
- 17. Stir in horseradish cream to taste and season with salt.
- 18. Remove the salmon from the steamer and let it drain.
- 19. Drain the vegetables.
- 20. Add the remaining butter and a little salt to the vegetables and mix well.
- 21. Plate everything and serve.
