🍰 Zebra Birthday Cake with Chocolate Glaze

Ingredients
- butter 250 g
- sugar 250 g
- eggs 5 pcs
- wheat flour, Type 405 450 g
- baking powder 2 tsp
- vanilla sugar 2 tsp
- salt pinch
- milk 100 ml
- cocoa powder 2 tbsp
- chocolate, dark 150 g
- heavy cream 150 ml
- chocolate candies 200 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-assisted.
- 2. Beat the soft butter in a bowl with a hand mixer and whisk until frothy.
- 3. Add the sugar and eggs one after the other to the butter and mix well.
- 4. Sift the flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and salt over the mixture.
- 5. Add the milk and stir everything together into a smooth batter.
- 6. Divide the batter evenly into two separate bowls.
- 7. Thoroughly mix the cocoa powder into the batter in one of the bowls.
- 8. Grease a 26-centimeter springform pan.
- 9. Spoon the light and dark batter alternately into the center of the pan.
- 10. Bake the cake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 11. Roughly chop the chocolate and melt it in a pot with the cream over medium heat.
- 12. Let the chocolate glaze cool down briefly.
- 13. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.
- 14. Pour the chocolate glaze over the cooled cake.
- 15. Let the glaze dry slightly.
- 16. Cut out a large piece of cake for decoration.
- 17. Decorate the cake with colorful chocolate sprinkles.
- 18. Halve the cut-out cake piece and place the halves with the round sides together to create a butterfly shape.
- 19. Decorate the butterfly shape with colorful chocolate sprinkles as well.
