🍽️ Fried Dumplings with Melted Onions and Cucumber Salad

Ingredients
- chives, fresh 20 g
- cucumbers 1 pc.
- vinegar 2 tbsp
- oil 6 tbsp
- sugar 1 tsp
- salt pinch
- spring onions 1 pc.
- butter 4 tbsp
- pointed cabbage 0.5 pc.
- cumin 1 tsp
- vegetable maultaschen 800 g
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Wash the chives thoroughly, pat dry, and cut into rings. Wash the cucumber, peel it, and slice it into thin slices. In a bowl, mix the cucumber, vinegar, 2 tbsp oil, half of the chives, sugar, and salt well.
- 2. Cut the onion in half, peel it, and slice it into thin rings. In a pot with 3 tbsp butter and sugar, melt over low heat while stirring constantly for about 15 minutes. Season with salt and sugar and keep warm.
- 3. Meanwhile, quarter the pointed cabbage, remove the core in a wedge shape, cut into thin strips, wash thoroughly, and spin dry.
- 4. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pot over medium heat and sweat the pointed cabbage together with cumin for about 4 minutes. Add 100 ml water, bring to a boil, season with salt and pepper, and keep warm covered over low heat.
- 5. Cut the maultaschen into strips. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the maultaschen in it for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Add the pointed cabbage and 1 tbsp butter, toss everything well, and season with salt and pepper.
- 6. Serve the maultaschen together with the caramelized onions on plates, sprinkle with the remaining chives, and serve with the cucumber salad. Enjoy your meal!
