  5. 5. Place the fig quarters in the pan with the cut side facing down.
  6. 6. Fry the figs for about one minute.
  7. 7. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the figs.
  8. 8. Let the sugar caramelize briefly until it turns golden brown.
  9. 9. Remove the figs from the pan.
  10. 10. Distribute the figs onto four plates.
  11. 11. Deglaze the caramel in the pan with the balsamic vinegar.
  12. 12. Boil the sauce for about two minutes.
  13. 13. Wait until the sauce becomes thick.
  14. 14. Place scoops of vanilla ice cream on the plates with the figs.
  15. 15. Pour the warm balsamic caramel over the ice cream.
  16. 16. Serve the dish immediately.
