🍰 Football-shaped Cream Puffs with Icing and Chocolate Decoration

Ingredients
- all-purpose flour, Type 405 200 g
- cornstarch 1 tbsp
- baking powder 2 tsp
- butter 80 g
- sugar 60 g
- vanilla sugar 1 packet
- salt pinch
- eggs 2 pcs
- milk 60 ml
- powdered sugar 250 g
- coating chocolate, dark 100 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Place flour, cornstarch, and baking powder in a bowl and sift them together.
- 3. Beat soft butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt in a separate bowl using a hand mixer with beaters until creamy.
- 4. Gradually stir in the eggs and milk into the butter mixture.
- 5. Add the flour mixture in portions and mix until you have a smooth dough.
- 6. Fill the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large round nozzle (approx. 12 mm diameter).
- 7. Pipe equally sized dough mounds (approx. 6 cm diameter) with plenty of space between them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 8. Bake the puffs for approx. 15 minutes.
- 9. Remove the trays from the oven and let the puffs cool down completely for approx. 30 minutes.
- 10. Whisk powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl to make the icing.
- 11. Spread the icing evenly over the cooled puffs and smooth it out.
- 12. Let the icing dry for approx. 10 minutes.
- 13. Bring approx. 500 ml of water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- 14. Roughly chop the coating chocolate.
- 15. Melt the chocolate in a bowl placed over the hot water bath.
- 16. Pour the melted chocolate into a freezer bag.
- 17. Push the chocolate into one corner of the bag and seal it tightly to create a piping bag.
- 18. Cut a small opening in the corner of the bag.
- 19. Draw a football pattern onto the puffs using the chocolate.
- 20. Let the chocolate decoration harden for approx. 10 minutes.
- 21. Serve the football puffs and enjoy!
