  1. 1. Peel the ginger and slice it thinly.
  2. 2. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice.
  3. 3. Put sugar, 50 milliliters of lemon juice, and two tablespoons of water into a pot.
  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil on high heat.
  5. 5. Let the syrup simmer for about two minutes on medium heat.
  6. 6. Add the ginger slices to the syrup.
  7. 7. Let the syrup with the ginger cool down.
  8. 8. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the stems.
  9. 9. Wash the apricots, cherries, and plums.
  10. 10. Halve these fruits and remove the pits.
  11. 11. Cut the apricots and plums into quarters.
  12. 12. Halve the melon and remove the seeds with a spoon.
  13. 13. Cut the melon flesh into cubes.
  14. 14. Wash the basil and pat it dry.
  15. 15. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  16. 16. Thread the fruits and basil leaves alternately onto the wooden skewers.
  17. 17. Drizzle the skewers with the remaining lemon juice.
  18. 18. Store the skewers in the refrigerator.
  19. 19. Mix the yogurt in a bowl thoroughly with the cooled ginger syrup.
  20. 20. Serve the fruit skewers with the ginger yogurt dip.
