🍽️ Creamy Cream Cheese Dip with Caramelized Onions and Nuts

Ingredients
- Cranberries, dried 80 g
- Onions, red 2 pcs
- Thyme, fresh 5 g
- Walnut kernels 80 g
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Honey 2 tbsp
- Cream cheese, plain 300 g
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Place the cranberries in a bowl and cover them completely with water. Set the bowl aside.
- 2. Halve the onions and remove the outer skin. Cut the onions into very fine strips.
- 3. Wash the thyme thoroughly and dry the leaves. Gently pluck the leaves from the stems.
- 4. Preheat a pan over medium heat. Roast the walnuts in it for about 2 minutes without adding extra fat.
- 5. Remove the roasted walnuts from the pan and set them aside.
- 6. Reheat the same pan and add a little oil.
- 7. Add the cut onions to the pan and sauté them for about 5 minutes until they are translucent.
- 8. Add the thyme to the onions in the pan.
- 9. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the onions and thyme. Let the mixture caramelize for about 1 minute.
- 10. Drain the cranberries in a sieve. Catch the water in a container.
- 11. Roughly chop the drained cranberries.
- 12. Roughly chop the roasted walnuts.
- 13. Take a separate bowl and add the cream cheese.
- 14. Add 3 tablespoons of the collected cranberry water to the cream cheese mixture.
- 15. Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the cream cheese mixture.
- 16. Mix the cream cheese mixture well until it is creamy and homogeneous.
- 17. Season the cream cheese mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- 18. Gently fold the caramelized onions into the cream cheese mixture.
- 19. Gently fold the chopped cranberries into the cream cheese mixture.
- 20. Gently fold the chopped walnuts into the cream cheese mixture.
- 21. Fill the finished cream cheese dip into a small bowl.
- 22. Garnish the dip with a dollop of honey if desired.
