  1. 1. Halve the onion and remove the outer skin. Dice the onion into small cubes.
  2. 2. Peel the garlic clove and chop it finely as well.
  3. 3. Wash and peel the carrots. Cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  4. 4. Heat the oil in a pan over high heat.
  5. 5. Sauté the onions, garlic, and carrots for about 3 minutes.
  6. 6. Stir in the tomato paste and cook it for 1 minute.
  7. 7. Pour the prepared broth into the pot.
  8. 8. Add the chopped tomatoes to the broth.
  9. 9. Season the soup with salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano.
  10. 10. Let the soup simmer for approx. 10 minutes over medium heat.
  11. 11. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  12. 12. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  13. 13. Finely chop the basil leaves.
  14. 14. Blend the tomato soup until creamy.
  15. 15. Adjust the seasoning of the soup if needed.
  16. 16. Serve the soup onto the plates.
  17. 17. Garnish the finished soup with the chopped basil.
