  6. 6. Add the puréed tomatoes, the grated vegetables, and about 200 milliliters of water to the pot.
  7. 7. Let the sauce simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
  8. 8. Wash the zucchini and cut off the ends.
  9. 9. Cut the zucchini into small cubes.
  10. 10. Rinse the thyme and shake it dry.
  11. 11. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stems and chop them finely.

  15. 15. Add the breadcrumbs to the pan and toast them for about three minutes until golden brown.

  19. 19. Fry the zucchini cubes for about five minutes.

  22. 22. Add the gnocchi to the boiling but not bubbling water.
  23. 23. Cook the gnocchi for about four minutes until they rise to the surface.
  24. 24. Remove the gnocchi with a slotted spoon.
  25. 25. Let the gnocchi drain briefly.
  26. 26. Plate the gnocchi.
  27. 27. Add the fried zucchini and the chopped basil to the tomato sauce.
  28. 28. Season the sauce with sugar, salt, and pepper.
