🍽️ Simple Homemade Flatbread

Ingredients
- water 300 ml
- yeast, fresh 21 g
- sugar 1 tbsp
- wheat flour, Type 405 500 g
- salt 1 tsp
- olive oil 50 ml
- sesame, white 4 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Heat water in a pot until it is lukewarm. This takes about one minute.
- 2. Crumble the yeast into a small bowl.
- 3. Add the lukewarm water and one tablespoon of sugar to the yeast.
- 4. Cover the bowl.
- 5. Let the mixture rest for about 15 minutes.
- 6. Mix the flour, salt, and oil in a large bowl.
- 7. Pour the yeast water into the flour mixture.
- 8. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 9. Divide the dough into four equal portions.
- 10. Shape each portion into a flat bread.
- 11. Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 12. Cover the flatbreads with a clean kitchen towel.
- 13. Let the flatbreads rise in a warm place for about one hour.
- 14. Wait until the volume of the flatbreads has approximately doubled.
- 15. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 16. Use top and bottom heat.
- 17. Cut a checkerboard pattern into each flatbread using a knife.
- 18. Brush the flatbreads with some water.
- 19. Sprinkle sesame seeds over them.
- 20. Bake the flatbreads in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- 21. Remove the flatbreads from the oven when they are golden brown.
- 22. Let the flatbread cool down slightly.
- 23. Serve the bread and enjoy!
