  1. 1. Let the frozen cod thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. 2. Rinse the thawed fish under cold water and pat it completely dry with kitchen paper.
  3. 3. Bring about 1 liter of salted water to a boil in a pot.
  4. 4. Add the cod fillet to the boiling water and cook it for approx. 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Halve an onion and peel it.
  6. 6. Cut the onion into fine cubes.
  7. 7. Wash fresh parsley and shake it dry.
  8. 8. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems.
  9. 9. Chop the parsley leaves coarsely.
  10. 10. Peel a clove of garlic and cut it finely.
  11. 11. Halve a lemon.
  12. 12. Squeeze the lemon.
  13. 13. Remove the cooked fish from the water and let it cool down briefly.
  14. 14. Place bread rolls in a bowl.
  15. 15. Pour the hot cooking water over the bread rolls.
  16. 16. Break up the cooled fish with a fork.
  17. 17. Drain the water from the bowl with the bread rolls.
  18. 18. Squeeze the bread rolls well to remove excess moisture.
  19. 19. Add the broken-up fish to the bowl.
  20. 20. Add an egg to the bowl.
  21. 21. Add 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs to the bowl.

  45. 45. Add horseradish cream to the bowl.
  46. 46. Mix the dip ingredients in the bowl.
  47. 47. Season the dip with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  48. 48. Serve the dip together with the fish patties.
