🍽️ Crispy Fish Patties with Bell Pepper

Ingredients
- Cod, frozen 600 g
- Salt pinch
- Spring onions 0.5 bunch
- Red bell pepper 1 pc.
- Parsley, fresh 20 g
- Lemons 1 pc.
- Bread rolls 1 pc.
- Eggs 1 pc.
- Breadcrumbs 80 g
- Black ground pepper pinch
- Sweet paprika pinch
- Ground chili pinch
- Sunflower oil 4 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Thaw the cod overnight in the refrigerator.
- 2. Rinse the fish under running water.
- 3. Pat the cod dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Chop the fish into coarse pieces.
- 5. Fill a pot with about 1 liter of water and add salt.
- 6. Bring the salted water to a boil.
- 7. Cook the cod pieces in it for 6 to 7 minutes.
- 8. Keep the heat low so the water simmers gently and does not boil vigorously.
- 9. Peel the spring onions and shake them dry.
- 10. Cut off the root ends of the spring onions.
- 11. Chop the spring onions into fine rings.
- 12. Wash the bell pepper under running water.
- 13. Halve the bell pepper lengthwise.
- 14. Remove the stem and seeds from the bell pepper.
- 15. Dice the bell pepper into small pieces.
- 16. Wash the parsley under running water.
- 17. Shake the parsley dry.
- 18. Pick the parsley leaves off the stems.
- 19. Chop the parsley leaves finely.
- 20. Halve the lemon.
- 21. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 22. Remove the cooked cod from the pot.
- 23. Let the cod cool down briefly.
- 24. Place the rolls in a bowl.
- 25. Pour the hot cooking water from the fish pot over the rolls.
- 26. Crush the cooled cod with a fork.
- 27. Drain the water from the bowl with the rolls.
- 28. Squeeze the rolls firmly to remove any remaining liquid.
- 29. Add the crushed cod to the bowl.
- 30. Add an egg to the bowl.
- 31. Add 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs to the bowl.
- 32. Add the chopped spring onions to the bowl.
- 33. Add the diced bell pepper to the bowl.
- 34. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the bowl.
- 35. Add the chopped parsley to the bowl.
- 36. Mix all ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
- 37. Season the mixture with salt.
- 38. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 39. Season the mixture with paprika powder.
- 40. Season the mixture with chili.
- 41. Let the fish mixture swell for about 5 minutes.
- 42. Shape the mixture into small patties.
- 43. Put 50 grams of breadcrumbs into a deep plate.
- 44. Roll the patties in the breadcrumbs until they are completely covered.
- 45. Heat oil in a pan on high heat.
- 46. Fry the patties with bell pepper for about 6 minutes.
- 47. Fry the patties until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
